Log Five: Blog Commenting & Design

Having read a lot of interesting comments on various blogs I am now starting to get engaged in commenting on everyone’s blogs. Having not had the time to create my own blog design, I wondered what everyone’s views are on my current design. Also I feel that in any profession I think it’s essential in making a method of communication accessible for everyone to clearly understand with confidence whilst also reflecting your professional personality and if my current blog design is not then please let me know. Thanks for Reading.

  1. Hi Marc,

I like the bold colours you have used as it makes everything very clear, and I think the background image shows that you are a creative person, eager to explore lots of things - the theatre masks, musical symbols etc. It could also say 'teacher/educator' - which seems to be your role in Chickenshed, so straight away from just accessing the page you get a sense of your personality and job.

My suggestion would be to change the font colour of your name at the top - it's quite easy to skim over without seeing it at the moment, and it's important to know!

  2. Hi Marc
Your blog page tells me you like to keep busy and are involved in 'Education' and you have a sense of fun. You can design and develope your blog page over time as you develope your own deep sense of self. I'm sure this course will help us do just that. It must be great working at the 'Chickenshed' and sharing your passion with children, giving them space and freedom to explore their creative ideas. I agree with Aicha, your name at the top of your blog should be clearer after all this is all about you. Don't hide your name.

I like your page because it shows that you are very creative but also have interests in other areas and sectors.

  4. Hello all, thank you for your feedback. I will take on board all your advice.
Aïcha, I have changed my name to a more visible colour, however I am still not convinced it is as clear as it could be. I am pleased that my design is seen to relate to education as yourself and Corinda have stated.
Working at Chickenshed is amazing. Have you seen any of their productions Corinda? I highly recommend it to all.
R.Parker, thank you for your lovely comment. How are you finding the BAPP course?

    Hope you're all well,
    Marc.
